City of Falls Church Holds Recycling Extravaganza and Household Hazardous Waste Event

Residents are invited to recycle, dispose of, and shred waste at the October 15 event.

FALLS CHURCH, VA - The City of Falls Church is proud to present the combination of two popular events on one day: Recycling Extravaganza and Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event on Saturday, October 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Recycling Center (217 Gordon Rd.).

Here's how to make the most of the event:

  1. RECYCLE: Bring electronics, metal, cell phones, clothing, bicycles, printer cartridges, eyeglasses, hearing aids, medical supplies, and so much more! Items will be donated or properly recycled. Go to www.fallschurchva.gov/RE for the full list of items accepted.
  2. DISPOSE: Get rid of items that can't be collected curbside, like paint, fluorescent bulbs, fuels and petroleum products, lawn chemicals, rechargeable batteries, and more. Go to www.fallschurchva.gov/RE for the full list of items accepted.
  3. SHRED: Bring up to three boxes of sensitive papers like tax documents, credit card statements, and more.

Volunteers are also needed to staff the collection stations. Sign up for a two hour shift via SignUpGenius, or email recycling2@fallschurchva.gov.
