Crashes Cause Falls Church City Hall Power Outage, Road Closures

Two crashes were reported in the City of Falls Church Tuesday morning, one of which caused a power outage at the city hall and library.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — One of two crashes in the City of Falls Church Tuesday morning caused a power outage at City Hall and Mary Riley Styles Public Library.

One of the crashes closed the southbound lane of N. Washington Street between Columbia Street and Great Falls Street. Traffic is being detoured onto Columbia Street.

The second crash closed an eastbound lane of W. Broad Street at Annandale Road. Traffic is being detoured onto Annandale Road.

One of the crashes caused a power outage at City Hall and the Mary Riley Styles Public Library. Both facilities were closed, and city government employees were asked to remain home until an update is given about telework or power restoration. Emergency workers were still asked to report to work.

As of 1 p.m., power was restored to Mary Riley Styles Public Library, and the Falls Church Community Center was open. The library is open until 8 p.m. City Hall remains closed.
