Dogfish Head Alehouse in Falls Church is closing its doors on May 15 after a decade and a half in business serving craft beer and food.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Dogfish Head Alehouse in Seven Corners is closing its doors on May 15 after a decade and a half in business serving craft beers and food.

The restaurant said it was unable to come to terms with the property owner on renewing its lease in the Seven Corners Shopping Center on Leesburg Pike.

“We would like to thank you for all of the love and support that everyone has bestowed upon us during this run,” Dogfish Head said in a Facebook post. “For those looking to raise a glass and reminisce about 15 of the best years that we would have imagined, come on down and celebrate with us. Our last day of service will be Sunday, May 15.”

Joe Hospital, co-owner of the restaurant at 7220 Leesburg Pike, told Annandale Today that Saul Centers, the owner of the Seven Corners Shopping Center, “raised the rent enough to make it unfeasible to run our business."

Hospital co-owns Dogfish Head Alehouse locations in Fairfax and Gaithersburg, Maryland, which will not be affected by the Falls Church restaurant's closing, according to WTOP.

The Dogfish Head Alehouse locations are operated independently from Dogfish Head Brewery in Delaware through an exclusive licensing agreement, WTOP reported.

Employees of the Falls Church location will be offered jobs at the other locations, according to Annandale Today.
