Falls Church To Host Easter Egg Hunt April 16 At Cherry Hill Park
The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance at the egg hunt, according to Falls Church event organizers.
FALLS CHURCH, VA — Easter is right around the corner in Falls Church. The Christian holiday, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, is April 17 — less than a month away!
Believe it or not, Easter eggs were used by early Christians to symbolize parts of the Easter story, representing the empty tomb from which Jesus resurrected, according to The History Channel.
As for the Easter bunny, it first arrived in America in the 1700s with German immigrants who settled in Pennsylvania and transported their tradition of an egg-laying hare called “Osterhase,” The History Channel says.
