Falls Church Library Will Erase Your Fines for Food Donations

Program geared toward having patrons donate canned food to rid them of library late fees.

If you have late fines at the Mary Riley Styles Public Library, you can get rid of them with a food donation.

Between Dec. 10 and 16, patrons can donate one non-perishable for each fine. Officials say there is no limit on the outstanding fines patrons can have erased by their donation.

“Between 700 and 900 items are usually donated annually,” Library Director Mary McMahon said.
