FIVE THINGS: Free Pickup for Properly Bundled Debris in City

1-    Properly bundled brush from the severe thunderstorm on Saturday will be collected today. Unbundled brush will be collected only through the fee-based Special Collection process. To bundle for today’s free collection, tie with string or twine. Brush should not exceed five feet in length and no individual branch diameter should exceed six inches. Each bundle must weigh less than 50 pounds. Brush that is not properly prepared or registered for a special collection will not be picked up.

2-    The will be closed today through Friday for interior painting. The library will reopen Saturday.

3-    On Saturday, ring in the autumn season with live entertainment, amusement rides, crafts and local businesses and civic organizations. Local restaurants and vendors will be on hand offering tastes of their food at the Taste of Falls Church.

4-    The City of Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department fall brochure is now available and residents can register for a variety of classes and activities for all ages.

5-    If you’re celebrating a birthday on Sept. 12, you share it with the late R&B singer Barry White, actress Linda Gray and former NBA star Yao Ming. Happy birthday!
