  3. On this day in 2003, Space Shuttle Columbia exploded over Texas while returning to Earth killing all seven crewmembers onboard.
  4. On this day in 2010, President Barack Obama proposed a $3.8 trillion budget for fiscal 2011 which projected a record-high budget deficit of $1.6 trillion in fiscal 2010.
