The 2012 Summer Camp brochure has arrived. Registration begins in February.

  1. The City of Falls Church has released its 2012 Summer Camp brochure. Registration for city residents begins Feb. 6 and registration for non-city residents begins Feb. 13. A copy of the brochure is attached below.
  2. The Planning Committee for the 2012 Falls Church City Memorial Day Parade and Festival seeks nominations for the Grand Marshal. Suggestions should be submitted to Jenny Paxton in the Recreation and Parks Department at jpaxton@fallschurchva.gov or 703-248-5199 (TTY 711).
  3. On this day in 1945, Warsaw was freed by the Soviet army.
  4. On this day in 1993, Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday observed in all 50 states for the first time.
  5. If today is your birthday, you share it with Dr. Daniel Hale Williams who performed the first open heart surgery in 1893 (156-years-old) and entertainer Danny Kaye (99-years-old). Happy birthday!
