  1. The Planning Committee for the 2012 Falls Church City Memorial Day Parade and Festival seeks nominations for the Grand Marshal. Suggestions should be submitted to Jenny Paxton in the Recreation and Parks Department at jpaxton@fallschurchva.gov or 703-248-5199 (TTY 711).
  2. The City of Falls Church Police Department is hosting an information session for city residents, business owners, and interested individuals to volunteer for the Crime Solvers Board. The session will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m., in the Dogwood Room in City Hall.
  3. On this day in 1984, Apple Computer unveiled its Macintosh personal computer.
  4. On this day in 1989, the first case of AIDS transmitted by heterosexual oral sex was reported.
