Mason Robotics Team Receives Grant From Exxon Mobil

The $2,000 grant will help team purchase needs for competitions.

The George Mason High FIRST Robotics Team 1418 received a $2,000 grant from the Exxon Mobil Corporation.

It’s the first grant the group has received this year before the 2013 FIRST Robotics Competition season begins. The season begins with the national announcement of this year's robotics challenge on Jan. 5.

Officials from the oil company – Jerry French, territory manager and Ashley A. Smith, public and government affairs advisor – presented the grant to the team and school Principal Ty Byrd.
