National Beer Day: Celebrate Craft Beers In Arlington, Falls Church

ARLINGTON/FALLS CHURCH, VA — Thursday is National Beer Day. So, what better way to celebrate than by raising a glass to craft breweries at your favorite taproom, bar, or restaurant in Arlington and Falls Church.

National Beer Day is celebrated in the United States every year on April 7, marking the enactment of the Cullen–Harrison Act in 1933. Upon signing the legislation, Roosevelt made his famous remark, "I think this would be a good time for a beer."

That law was a significant move toward ending Prohibition, allowing people to brew and sell beer with a low alcohol content in the United States.

Nearly 90 years later, beer is easily purchased and regularly enjoyed in bars all around the country — but local taprooms and breweries are booming, too, while putting their own flavor and spin on one of America's favorite drinks.
