Orso Adding Brunch Menu Starting Memorial Day Weekend

You may never find a better working Yankee-Red Sox fan duo anywhere else outside of Jonathan Bentley and .

For the last few weeks the two have joined forces to form the new management at . The friends of six years haven’t been at the helm long – Artley approaching five weeks and Bentley approaching three weeks – but they have cooked up an idea missing from Orso since its inception - brunch!

“People love brunch,” said Artley, executive chef at Orso. He said the brunch menu will consist of three types of egg Benedict, French toast, garlic cheddar grits and several standard items and some fun, original ones as well. “We’re here to make people happy.”

Artley and Bentley have started revamping Orso’s menu and service to be more community oriented. From buying local food to adding brunch to the menu, Bentley said they want to make Orso a destination restaurant where people want to travel. He said they also want to make the community feel the wood oven pizzeria is a home away from home.

While the store was closed Monday, Artley and Bentley joked around between doing paperwork, answering phone calls from vendors and checking on supplies.

“The only person I could see running this place was Jon,” Artley said.

Bentley, the new general manager, quickly chimed in cutting Artley saying, “I trust his cooking and business sense and (he) trusts my management style.”

Bentley isn’t the only person who trusts Artley’s cooking.

In January 2008, Artley was invited to cook at the White House for a day. Standing hand-in-hand with the White House chefs in a framed photo - and smile plastered on his face - Artley discussed what he fixed for President George W. Bush.

“I made braised short ribs with a white truffle risotto,” Artley said.

Bentley is hopeful the changed menu and friendly service at Orso will attract people to the location. He said there are places within walking of the restaurant for people enjoy a show and come grab a bite to eat to make it a complete night.

“I love this area,” Bentley said. “I think it’s a real good sense of community here. Although we’re in the suburbs of D.C., it still has a small town feel.”
