Paratransit Bus Driver Charged With Raping Passenger: Fairfax County Police

Woman in Falls Church area says driver assaulted her, according to Fairfax County Police investigators.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — A bus driver in Metro's paratransit program is accused of sexually assaulting a passenger earlier this summer in the Falls Church area, Fairfax County Police announced Thursday.

Jose G. Pino Estrada, 35, of Alexandria, has been charged with rape. He turned himself in on Wednesday.

According to police, Pino Estrada was an employee of Diamond Transportation which provides MetroAccess transportation services under contract to Metro. He has been fired.

According to police, the 51-year-old woman reported that Pino Estrada assaulted on June 28 at her apartment in the Falls Church area.

The woman had contacted the bus service after she left her phone on the bus and Pino Estrada allegedly assaulted her when he returned the phone.

Two days later, the victim reported the incident to her counselor, who encouraged her to report it to police.

Detectives believe there may be other victims and ask anyone with knowledge of similar incidents to contact the Fairfax County Police.
