NORTHERN VIRGINIA — Taco Bamba will be donating a percentage of its proceeds from all of its restaurants on Wednesday to World Central Kitchen to help with the charitable group’s relief efforts in Ukraine.

World Central Kitchen, founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, has worked on the front lines of many crises. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, World Central Kitchen partnered with restaurants in the country and is serving food at hundreds of locations in 12 Ukrainian cities.

World Central Kitchen also has sites in Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia for refugees who are crossing the border.

In 2018, Taco Bamba started hosting a National Taco Day fundraiser on Oct. 4. Each Taco Bamba location races to see who can sell the most tacos.

Proceeds from each year of the National Taco Day fundraiser have benefited World Central Kitchen. This October will mark the fifth year of the Bambathon.
