Falls Church businesses are already in the holiday spirit.

With Thanksgiving just a couple days away, the holidays are here and the Merrifield Garden Center kicked off the shopping season.

The three stores in the chain held a “Ladies Night” holiday shopping event last week where they served food, wine and had music just right for the season.

Fairfax County police released a picture of the man they believe attacked a 17-year-old woman in the bathroom of a Falls Church library on Nov. 6. No arrests have been made and police are still looking for the man.

A Falls Church cyclist was killed when she was hit by a motorists last Monday. Elizabeth P. Shattuck, 58, of Falls Church, was pronounced dead at the scene.
