13-Year-Old Runaways Sought By Family, Stafford Sheriff's Office

Two 13-year-old runaways are thought to be traveling together and may be in the Spotsylvania area, according to authorities.

STAFFORD, VA — Stafford County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in locating two 13-year-old girls who were reported as runaways on Tuesday.

  • Annabelle Griffis is described as standing 5-foot-4 and weighing 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
  • Josephine Compton is described as standing 5-foot-6 an weighing 120 pounds, with blonde hair and brown eyes."

"Recently, Annabelle was reported as a runaway," the sheriff's office posted Thursday morning on its X (formerly Twitter) account. "Now her friend, Josephine, has also been reported as a runaway. It is believed the two are together and were potentially in the Spotsylvania area."

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the two 13-year-olds is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 540-658-4450.
