20 Child Porn Charges Filed Against Spotsylvania Man

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA — A Spotsylvania man is facing 20 counts of possessing child pornography following an investigation by the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit, according to authorities.

Acting on a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the ICAC team and members of the sheriff office’s Child Victims Unit executed a search warrant at the home of Tyler Rivera in the 7000 block of Fairmont Lane, according to the incident report.

During the search, investigators seized multiple digital devices. Based on that evidence, Rivera was arrested and charged with 20 counts of possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation, and facilitation of child pornography, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office expects to file additional charges against Rivera for child sexual abuse and aggravated sexual battery, authorities say. For their protection, the identities and relationship of the minors involved in this case were not released.
