What's Open, Closed For Christmas 2025 In Fredericksburg
The Christmas holiday will prompt closures around Fredericksburg, with many closures starting on Wednesday.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Christmas falls on Thursday, Dec. 25 this year, bringing a holiday break for students and employees.
Government offices, schools and some businesses will close for the holiday observance. Many government offices and services will also be closed on Thursday, with some closing early on Wednesday.
Here are all the openings and closings to know around the City of Fredericksburg for the Christmas holiday.

- Fredericksburg Government Offices: Closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 25.
- State Courts: Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Dec. 26.
- Fredericksburg Public Schools: Closed Dec. 22 through Jan. 2.
- Fredericksburg Law Enforcement Offices: Closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 25.
- FXBGO! will not operate transit services on Wednesday-Friday, Dec. 24-26.
- Fredericksburg Trash & Recycling: Collection services will operate as normal on Wednesday, Dec. 24. No collection services will be provided on Thursday, Dec. 25. Trash and recycling collections will shift forward by one day. Normal Thursday collections will occur on Friday, and normal Friday collections will occur on Saturday, Dec. 27.
- Belman Road Recycling Center and the Stafford Landfill will close at 12 noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and will remain closed on Christmas Day. Normal operations will resume on Friday, Dec. 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Central Rappahannock Regional Library: All branches will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 25.
- Post Offices: Closed Thursday, Dec. 25
