Chancellor, Riverbend High Schools Compete in Chick-fil-A Challenge

The spirit week competition will conclude with the fifth anniversary bowl game and school supply drive.



Chick-fil-A® at Fredericksburg, 4220 Plank Road, is hosting a 'Spirit Week Five Day Challenge' to benefit Chancellor High School and Riverbend High School.


The August 26 - 30 competition will determine which of the two schools have the most spirit, measured by actual and Facebook participation in a series of events.


Monday, Aug. 26 – Meet & Greet

All students are invited to visit with their football team, coaches and cheerleaders at the Fredericksburg Chick-fil-A restaurant.  The Meet & Greet for Chancellor High School is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Riverbend High School’s is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Students are also encouraged to "check-in" to the event on the restaurant’s Facebook page. All check-ins will be added toward the social media portion of the competition.

Tuesday, Aug. 27 – Battle of the Bands

The two high school bands will compete for bragging rights, a trophy and free Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwiches beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Battle of the Bands takes place at the restaurant.


Wednesday, Aug. 28 – Riverbend High School Milkshake Madness
Cheerleaders from Riverbend High School will serve shakes from 5 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant.


Thursday, Aug. 29 – Chancellor High School Milkshake Madness Cheerleaders from Chancellor High School will serve shakes from 5 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant.


Friday, Aug. 30 – Tailgate & Game Day

School supporters are encouraged to order party trays to celebrate Game Day. The tailgate will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at Chick-fil-A, where the first 200 fans can pick up a free school sign.

Kickoff for the fifth anniversary bowl game will be at 7 p.m., and the first 250 fans will receive a free gift bag. All fans who bring school supply donations to the game will receive a coupon for a free Chicken Sandwich.  The game is at Chancellor High School, 6300 Harrison Rd., Fredericksburg.

In addition to measuring participation through social media check-ins, receipts for Chick-fil-A meal and party tray purchases will be counted for each high school throughout the week.

At the end of the week, both schools will be awarded a check. Chick-fil-A will announce the winning school with the highest total dollar amounts in Chick-fil-A receipts during halftime of the High School Chick-fil-A Bowl Game on Friday, Aug. 30.
