City Council, Hagerstown Sun Reps Meet Monday

The 5:30 p.m. July 1 meeting is open to the public.

City Council will meet in special session July 1 with representatives of the Hagerstown Suns.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for both sides to discuss the proposal to relocate the Class-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals to Fredericksburg, according to the agenda.

On May 13 team representatives proposed the City construct a 4,750 seat multi-use stadium and lease it to the team for 30 years.  The Suns would provide the city $3 million for land in Celebrate Virginia, and the city would issue up to $30 million in bonds to build the stadium.
