College Avenue Closure September 19 - 20

College Avenue between Rowe Street and Payne Street will close in both directions beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday through 1 p.m. Friday.  Detours will be in place.

"The contractor for the new Campus Center will be tunneling under the active gas line and waterline to install the sanitary line," University of Mary Washington (UMW) said in a press release.


UMW Campus Center utility work is scheduled through October 11.  Details are available at College Avenue Detours, Parking Restrictions.

University of Mary Washington President Richard Hurley and the Board of Visitors will hold a Campus Center Groundbreaking Ceremony at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 on Ball Circle.  Free parking is available in the George Washington Hall parking lot.
