Two Philadelphia men were arrested after passing counterfeit money at a Panera Bread restaurant in Stafford, according to the SCSO.
STAFFORD, VA—Two Philadelphia men were arrested Monday after passing counterfeit money in a Panera Bread restaurant at 1005 Stafford Market Place, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Frank Perez Pilarte, 24, and Jayden Scott, 19, were charged with forgery/uttering and conspiracy.
Around 5:30 p.m., police went to the business after receiving a report of a man passing a phony $100 bill. They spotted a man matching his description leaving a side door of the restaurant before walking down the road and getting into a jeep.
Police pulled over the vehicle near a Kangaroo Mart at 34 Prosperity Lane. The driver was identified as Pilarte, with Scott the passenger. Officers found cash and a printer inside the vehicle. Police later found the two had passed counterfeit bills at two other nearby businesses.
