The Dog Days of Summer at the Marine Corps Museum
Saturday, Aug. 24, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Come to the museum to see military police working dogs, pets for adoption and Virginia raptors at the fifth annual Dog Days of Summer. The K9 Unit will perform at 12 noon.  Check out the special guests from Stafford SPCA and the German Shepherd Rescue League.  Free.

2013 Annual Crab Feast
Saturday, Aug. 24, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Nativity of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, 12326 Spotswood Furnace Rd., Fredericksburg
Gate opens at 11 a.m. Tickets are $30 and include unlimited crabs, hot dogs, water, limited beer (5), and a dessert. Entertainment by the band Sour Mash. The event will be held RAIN or SHINE. Tickets may be purchased at Todd’s Taver, 2400 Diner, Hair Mosaic’s and Napoleta. NO TICKETS SOLD AT DOOR. Bring a canopy. Table and chairs provided.

Historic Fredericksburg Foundation Car Hop

Children’s activities, great food and plenty of 1950s rock and roll. Slick back your hair and put on your poodle skirt, have a burger and shake. Free admission.

Fredericksburg Community Concert Band Concert

Music from Star Wars, Superman, 1941, Star Trek and more.  Come dressed as your favorite movie charactor, or not, bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the evening.  Free.

Blessing of the Backpacks

A St. George's tradition honoring all those picking up their bags and heading back out into the world.  Bring you backpack (or bag) to church and have it blessed.
