Several storms, most notably a tropical depression brewing in the Gulf of Mexico, have the potential to dump heavy rains on the coastal areas of Georgia, Florida and South Carolina over the next several days.

Meteorologists on Tuesday were eyeing what's being called Tropical Depression Nine in the Gulf.

Georgia Officer Run Over By Woman Escaping Arrest: Police

Police in Georgia are looking for the woman they say ran over a police officer and dragged him with her car during an arrest attempt.

During a traffic stop, an officer reportedly attempted to arrest a drive on outstanding warrants for previous drug charges. The woman physically resisted arrest, according to police. During the struggle, she allegedly put her car back into drive and began to drive off. >>> Read more.
