First Reading of Budget, Riverfront Park Task Force on Council Agenda

City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. April 23. The agenda is attached to this story as a pdf.

City Council members will have their first vote on the FY2014 budget Tuesday night, after their 5:30 p.m. work session to finalize the budget.

City Manager Bev Cameron presented his recommended budget to council on March 12.  In five subsequent work sessions, council members have debated changes.

Additionally, City Council voted 4 - 3 to advertise the city's real estate tax rate for FY2014 at 9 cents above the current rate of 74 cents per $100 valuation.

The second reading and final adoption will be at the May 14 City Council meeting.

The work session begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Room 218 Conference Suite at City Hall.  The regular session begins at 7:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers.  Both meetings are open to the public.  The regular session is also broadcast live on the city's government access channel, Cox cable channel 24.
