Two people were arrested for threatening an employee and trashing a hotel room after being kicked out for smoking pot in Stafford: SCSO.

STAFFORD, VA—Two people were arrested Sunday for threatening an employee and trashing a hotel room after being kicked out for smoking marijuana in a Country Inn and Suites at 656 Warrenton Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

Byron Waller, 30, of Austell, Ga., was charged with assault and battery, disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice and destruction of property. Zakiya Armotrading, 30, of Palmetto, Ga., was charged with destruction of property and obstruction of justice.

When police arrived at the hotel, an employee said she had received several complaints from guests about the smell of marijuana coming from a fourth-floor room. She confronted the people to whom the room was registered and told them to pack up and leave "due to the marijuana."

They became belligerent, and Waller threatened the employee. After vandalizing the room, something that was confirmed by police, they left in a black Jeep Wrangler. Other units responded, and the pair was found in a nearby Clarion Inn at 564 Warrenton Road.

Police found a gun on a bench, and said the room smelled strongly of marijuana.
