Hours-Long Police Standoff Ends With Arrest In Stafford: Police
A man was arrested after randomly firing a gun while having barricaded himself inside a home for several hours in Stafford, says the SCSO.

STAFFORD, VA—A man was arrested Saturday after randomly firing a gun while having barricaded himself inside a home for several hours during a police standoff in the 100 block of Empress Alexandria Place, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Brandon Hunt, 35, of Fredericksburg, was charged with attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer, discharging a firearm within an occupied dwelling and reckless handling of a firearm.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Friday, police went to the scene for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found that an armed man was barricaded inside and "intermittently firing a weapon." Family members had fled the home when he fired the first shot.

Also called to the area was a SWAT team, drone, a K-9 unit and crisis negotiators. During the negotiations, Hunt continued to randomly fire his gun while moving throughout the home. Finally, around 3:30 a.m., he surrendered but not before "chemical agents were deployed into the residence."
