Levy to Face Murder Charges in Alleged Shooting of Boyfriend

James Thomas, shot in the head April 27, died Thursday.

A 62-year-old Richmond man shot in the head allegedly by his girlfriend died Thursday, according to the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office.

James Thomas had been in critical condition at Mary Washington Hospital since the April 27 shooting at Wilderness Presidential Resorts, a privately owned campground in Spotsylvania County.

Lillian Mae Levy, 77, of Mechanicsville, Md. has been in Rappahannock Regional Jail since the incident on charges of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

"Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Deputies recovered a handgun and other evidence subsequent to executing a search warrant on Levy’s Camper," according to Southern Maryland News Net

Spotsylvania Commonwealth’s Attorney Bill Neely will now seek a murder warrant against Levy, authorities said.
