Local Food Bank 'Shows Up When It Matters Most': Best Of 2025

Fredericksburg, Virginia — Every community has its bright spots — the neighbors, businesses and local favorites that make it feel like home. As 2025 comes to a close, Patch and T-Mobile are recognizing the people, places and moments that made this year brighter in Fredericksburg through our Best of 2025 series.

Who or what are you nominating for Best of 2025?

How did this person, place or experience make a difference in your life or community this year?

This year, the food bank made a real difference in my life and in our community, especially during the uncertainty of the government shutdown. I saw firsthand how quickly families, many who had never needed help before, were impacted by missed paychecks and rising costs. The food bank stepped in without hesitation, making sure families like mine had access to healthy food when our stability was shaken. Knowing that this support was there reduced stress for my family, and so many more! It reminded me that our community steps up, even in difficult moments, to take care of each other.

What would you like everyone in town to know about your nominee?

I want everyone in town to know that this food bank shows up when it matters most. They don’t just provide food, they provide hope and peace of mind during some of the hardest moments we face. They stand out because they treat everyone with respect, and truly care about the well-being of our community.

If you could tell them one thing, what would it be?

Thank you for being there when our family needed it most, we will never forget the care you showed when it mattered most.

What’s something you love most about your town or community?

It’s a place where support feels genuine, help is offered without judgment, and people truly care about the well-being of one another.
