Man Charged With DUI After Hit-And-Run At VA McDonald's

The man was also charged with failing to stop for an accident, police said.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A man is facing charges after police said he rear-ended another car in a McDonald's drive-thru and fled the scene.

Victor Ramirez was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and failing to stop for an accident following the Tuesday incident, Fredericksburg police said in a news release.

According to police, a woman was waiting for her food in the McDonald’s drive-thru when her car was rear-ended by a driver who appeared to be under the influence. When she exited her vehicle to confront him, the driver fled southbound on Route 1, police said.

Restaurant employees were able to get the car's license plate number and shared it with police, who later located the vehicle and identified the driver as Ramirez.

According to police, Ramirez showed signs of impairment and admitted to striking the vehicle, claiming he had "zoned out."

Police attempted to administer a field sobriety test, but Ramirez became uncooperative and was taken into custody for driving under the influence, authorities said.
