Man Who Fled Traffic Stop Identified; Still At-Large Friday Morning: Sheriff

Stafford County Sheriff's Office believes the suspect who fled a traffic stop on Thursday spent the night in the woods near Baron Park Road.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 44-year-old King George man has been identifided as the man who fled a traffic stop around 2 p.m. on Thursday east of Fredericksburg, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office believes that the suspect, identified on Friday morning as Andre Bennett. Jr., spent night in the wooded area near Baron Park Road.

Sheriff's deputies first called on the public's help in looking for Bennett after he fled a traffic stop on Town and Country Drive, according to a post on the department's official X account.

Bennett was described as a Black man with long dreadlocks, who weighs about 220 pounds, according to the post. He was wearing a gray T-shirt and black shorts.
