Murder Suspect 'Thinks' She Shot, Killed Ex-Boyfriend: Sheriff
A 32-year-old woman told the Stafford County Sheriff's Office that she "thinks" she shot and killed her ex-boyfriend, authorities say.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 32-year-old South Stafford woman is facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder, in the fatal shooting of her ex-boyfriend, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. The name of the victim was not released.
Around 12:40 p.m., on Saturday, the sheriff's office received a call from Ashlynn Blair, who said that she thought she had shot and killed her ex-boyfriend at her home, according to the incident report. She also told authorities that she was in the parking lot of the Giant at 550 Celebrate Virginia Parkway in Fredericksburg, awaiting deputies.
"Deputies responded to the location of the caller and the residence in question," according to the sheriff's office. "At the residence, deputies located a 31-year-old male with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Simultaneously, deputies made contact with the caller and she was detained. The firearm believed to be used in the incident was in the possession of the caller at the time of her detainment."

After determining that it was a domestic-related shooting, deputies arrested Blair and charged her with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to the incident report. She was then taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail and held without bond.

Blair was scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in Stafford County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and a preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 10, according to court records.
The firearm charge is considered a Class 1 misdemeanor, which is punishable by 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500, under the Code of Virginia.
If convicted of second degree murder, Blair faces a possible sentence of five to 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000, according to Virginia law.
