Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office will partner with NFL Super Bowl Champion Gary Clark to host the second annual youth camp.
Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office teams up with former NFL Super Bowl Champion Gary Clark to host the second annual youth NFL Legends football camp in Spotsylvania County.
Sheriff Roger Harris announced that the camp will take place at Courtland High School from June 27 nd to June 30 th . Over 600 Spotsylvania youth have registered for the camp which will have former 2x Super Bowl Champion wide receiver Gary Clark of the Washington Redskins along with other NFL Legends running a combine style football camp. Sheriff Harris says last year’s camp was extremely successful by offering the county’s youth an opportunity to interact with Deputies in a positive way learning valuable skills on and off the field. Sheriff Harris said he and his staff are honored to have such a group of NFL Legends whom are willing to give their time to our area youth. Captain Troy Skebo has coordinated this event since 2015 in light of the 600% growth in attendees. This free football camp is made possible by donations from area businesses and is a true testament to community policing. The partnership we have with our school system, community, and youth are what makes all our events so successful and provides our youth an experience of a lifetime. Gary Clark founded this camp and promotes fitness for the youth and to fight childhood obesity, which is a very worthwhile cause.
