Northern Virginia Weather: Dodging Weekend Raindrops

STERLING, VA—Northern Virginia's weekend weather doesn't bode well for many holiday celebrations scheduled throughout the area—especially Saturday when plenty of rain is expected. That's the word from the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets. Highs will be hard-pressed to even reach 50 degrees.

And Sunday? Consider this from the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "This should be the pick of the weekend despite some shower risk. Any of that is probably rather spotty and focused early in the day. The bigger story is higher temperatures, near or even above 60."
