Northern Virginia Weather: Hazardous Outlook Issued

STERLING, VA—Not only are temperatures plummeting, but the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday. Aside from nasty wind chills paired with below-freezing temperatures, the NWS points out that "gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."

So here's what we're looking at, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: ". . .winds around 15 to 25 mph early should increase into the midday. This means widespread gusts in the 30-40 mph zone in the morning, and possibly about 10 mph higher in the midday through early afternoon."
