STERLING, VA—After a painfully slow escape from the arctic clutches that have bear-hugged the area since Sunday afternoon, Northern Virginia residents finally get relief the next couple of days but also with a does of rain. That's the word from the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets.
Highs Wednesday should be in the mid to upper 40s with just a small decrease in the evening as rain moves into the picture. About that precipitation, there's this from the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "A couple showers seem likely to dot the landscape by afternoon, which could maybe start with a sleet pellet in spots. Any sustained rain should hold off until well after dark."
