Police: Man Assaulted Under Railway Bridge

Fredericksburg Police report the victim was transported to an area hospital.

A man was arrested and charged for felony probation violation after Fredericksburg police investigated an alleged assault on Friday.

A Ruther Glen resident reported he was assaulted under the railway bridge in the 100 block of Lafayette Boulevard by a male aquaintance who attacked him with a large rock, Fredericksburg public information office Natalia Bledsoe said.

"The victim required transport to the emergency room for treatment of a significant head injury," Bledsoe said in a release. "It is unknown what prompted the assault."

Police said the assailant was described as a white male in his 20s who is known to the victim only by his first name.

"The victim was also found to have an outstanding warrant against him from Stafford County," said Bledsoe. "Edwin Hall, 24, was arrested for felony probation violation and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail after his release from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing."

Celebrate Virginia Live, 2200 Gordon Shelton Blvd, July 29 9 p.m. A Stafford resident reported that an unknown female sprayed her in the face with an unknown substance, which required the victim to be transported to the hospital for treatment. The suspect was described as a white female in her 30s wearing a pink tank top with spaghetti straps. The investigation is ongoing. 

Burglarly

1700 block of Lafayette Boulevard, July 28 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. A resident reported that a DVD player and a large number of DVDs were stolen from her apartment. There was no sign of forced entry to the residence. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 

Larceny 

300 block of Caroline Street, July 26 – 27, 11:30 a.m. A contractor reported that copper gutters and downspouts were stolen from a construction site. The items were later found at Summit Recycling where they had been exchanged for cash by a male subject. The suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Train Station, 200 Lafayette Boulevard, July 24 – 28, 7:45 am. A Stafford resident reported that her bicycle and lock were stolen from the train station. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Pitts Automotive, 2610 Princess Anne St., July 28, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. A customer reported that video games were stolen from his vehicle while it was left at the business. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy., July 28, 4:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. A Springfield resident reported that prescription medications were stolen from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

200 block of McConkey Street, July 29 2:50 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Two residents reported that items of value were stolen from their unlocked vehicles. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 

Radio Shack, 1287 Carl D Silver Pkwy., July 29, 3:30 p.m. An employee reported that a male subject stole a Bluetooth device by concealing it in his clothing. He then left the area in a white Chevrolet sedan. The investigation is ongoing.

Celebrate Virginia Live, 2200 Gordon Shelton Blvd., July 29, 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. A Spotsylvania resident reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was watching the concert. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 

Vandalism 

, 1150 Carl D Silver Pkwy., July 28, 10:20 p.m. An employee reported that a male subject dented his vehicle in the parking lot after getting into an argument with another employee. The suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

, 2014 Plank Rd., July 29, 6 p.m. The manager reported that two young men shattered the glass in the front door while they were horsing around inside the business. The two left the scene in a red car. No known suspects at this time.
