Police: Man Driving Stolen Pick-Up Crashes into Downtown Residence
In another incident, a man is sought for an indecent exposure incident at Hardees.

Police, fire, and rescue personnel responded August 6 to reports of a vehicle crash into a building in the 1300 block of Sophia Street and found a pickup truck that had struck the porch of a residence, police spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe said.
A witness saw a man walking away from the crash scene and provided a description of the suspect to responding officers. About 20 minutes after the crash, the owner of the pickup called 9-1-1 to report that her truck was missing from her home on Stuart Street, Bledsoe said.
Officers arrived on Stuart Street to speak to the vehicle owner and located a man matching the description of the suspect. The man was detained and later identified by the witness as the person seen fleeing from Sophia Street. Mark
Edward Payne, 46, of Fredericksburg, was arrested for DUI, refusal to
submit to a blood or breath test, driving while revoked and leaving the scene of an accident, Bledsoe said.
Payne was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
INDECENT EXPOSURE:
An employee at the Hardee's at 1700 Princess Anne St. reported at 10 a.m. Aug. 6 that a male subject was following behind her on foot as she walked south on Princess Anne Street toward the restaurant.
The complainant briefly went inside the business and then stepped back outside, where she saw the same man again standing at the end of the fence line bordering Herndon Street. The man called out to get her attention and the victim saw that he was exposing himself.
The offender left the area on foot prior to police arrival. He was described as a white male in his late 40s or early 50s with a thin build and dirty blond hair, wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and a black hat and carrying a backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
