Route 17 Lane Closures Overnight Monday in Stafford

The left turn lane and left travel lane of northbound Route 17 will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, until 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, between Celebrate Virginia Parkway and Stafford Lakes Parkway, VDOT reported.

Northbound motorists will not be allowed to turn left at Banks Ford Parkway and Stafford Lakes Parkway on Monday evening. Motorists should make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Village Parkway, and proceed south on Route 17 to reach their destination.

On Monday evening, workers will be paving temporary travel lanes in the median of northbound Route 17 for an upcoming traffic shift associated with the Route 17 widening project.

In June, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) began a $48.9 million project to widen Route 17 from four to six lanes between McLane Drive and Stafford Lakes Parkway.  The project is expected to be complete by December 1, 2016.
