Rt. 1 Lane Closures Wednesday at UMW Pedestrian Bridge

Motorists are advised of temporary lane closures planned for Wednesday, May 8, on U.S. Route 1 Bypass at the University of Mary Washington pedestrian bridge, The City of Fredericksburg Public Works Department said.

Alternating lane closures in each direction will be in effect between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in order to facilitate cleaning of the bridge. 

Route 1 will remain open to traffic at all times; however, motorists should expect minor traffic delays and may want to allow for extra time while traveling through the work zone area.
