The City of Fredericksburg Department of Economic Development and Tourism released their second quarter newsletter. Following are some highlights.

- The next deadline for businesses to apply for Fredericksburg Business Incentive Grants is October 1.
- New store and business openings almost doubled in the 2nd Quarter, 2013.
- If UMW students are your customers, sign up now to participate in the Community Welcome Fair for incoming freshmen on Saturday, Aug. 24. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 21.
- Over 100 local artists will showcase their talent in street art at the 4th Annual Via Colori Fredericksburg, September 20 - 22.

4 - The Department of Economic Development and Tourism has
created a Facebook Fan Page to promote the City of Fredericksburg.

6 - The Fredericksburg Regional Alliance (FRA), in conjunction with the University of Mary Washington (UMW), is currently analyzing clusters of interrelated industries in the region.
