STAFFORD, VA—Two men who shot into an apartment early Tuesday night in the 1000 block of Providence Street were arrested after a drone- and K-9-assisted chase in the northern end of the county, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Ekow Nkansah Adams, 22, of Dumfries, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, obstruction of justice, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and drunk in public. Javon Alberto Williams, 20, of Stafford County, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and obstruction of justice.
Shortly after 6 p.m., a caller told police he had heard a shot and found that someone had fired into his apartment. When a deputy arrived, he saw two people near a vehicle who then quickly fled into woods behind the apartments, where the deputy lost them. When police searched the vehicle, they found two guns, cash and a bag of marijuana. One of the guns wound up being stolen out of Prince William County.

As a K-9 unit and a drone team searched the area, police received a report of a suspicious person in the back yard of a home in the 200 block of Providence Street. The K-9 unit found Adams hiding in some bushes. He didn't obey commands, so the K-9 dog was sicced on him, and he was arrested.
Meanwhile, police saw a suspicious man—Williams—entering a nearby hotel. They went inside and found him in a hotel bathroom, where he was identified as one of the two suspects.
