STEM16 Summit Gears Up In Fredericksburg
Innovation at its very essence will be on full display next month at the 8th annual STEM16 Summit at James Monroe High in Fredericksburg.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA—Innovation at its very essence will be on full display 10 a.m.-2 p.m. March 2 inside James Monroe High School at 2300 Washington Avenue. It's the 8th annual STEM16 Summit, which will bring together students, teachers, public officials and area businesses.
Sponsored by the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, the summit is free and open to any high school students in the region. Among the demonstrations: 3D printing, a flight simulator, liquid nitrogen, Van de Graaff generator, vacuum pump and diffraction glasses.
For the record, here's what STEM is, per livescience.com: "STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications."
