Teachers Return, Baseball Talks Continue, Handbags Further Hope

Monday
Fredericksburg City Public School teachers are back at work today to begin preparations for the 2013-14 school year.

Tuesday
Fredericksburg City Councilman and baseball negotiating team member Fred Howe and City Manager Bev Cameron will meet with Hagerstown Suns' majority owner Bruce Quinn at 5 p.m. today to discuss "the team’s new counter / revised offer," Howe said.  Read the story: Howe, Cameron, Quinn to Talk Baseball Tuesday

Wednesday
The Fredericksburg Community Concert Band presents a free concert of movie themes beginning at 7 p.m. at Hurkamp Park, William Street and Prince Edward Street, Fredericksburg.  Bring a picnic dinner and come dressed in your favorite movie costume. 

Thursday
Bags of Hope Charity Auction will benefit Hope House in Fredericksburg.  The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Downtown Fredericksburg Courtyard by Marriott, 620 Caroline St.  Tickets are $35 per person, and are available online.  Hope House is the only transitional housing program and facility for homeless women and their children in the Rappahannock Region.
