Teen Arrested for Bomb Threat at Fredericksburg McDonald's

An 18-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday evening for making a bomb threat at the McDonalds at 1212 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Fredericksburg.

The E-911 Center received information concerning a bomb threat at about 5:50 p.m., Fredericksburg Police spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe said.  "Officers responded and evacuated all employees and customers to a secure perimeter," she said. A bomb detection dog from the Virginia State Police searched the premises and no explosives were found.

"The investigation led to a room at the nearby Thomas Jefferson Motel, where the offender was located and taken into custody," Bledsoe said.

Trae’von Smith, of no fixed address, was arrested for making a threat to bomb a building.  He is incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under a $1500 bond.
