Two Drunk Drivers In Same Vehicle Busted In Stafford: Police

Two drunk men who took turns driving the same vehicle were arrested in Stafford, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

STAFFORD, VA—Two drunk men who took turns driving the same vehicle were arrested Sunday night in the area of Garrisonville Road and Shelton Shop Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

Leonis Perez Alvarez, 23, of Alexandria, and William Escobar Barrios, 41, of Lothian, Md., were charged with driving under the influence. Alvarez also was charged with failure to maintain lane control and driving without a license.

Around 7:30 p.m., a caller reported seeing a vehicle "driving all over the road," and that the vehicle then stopped so the occupants could switch seats. Police spotted the vehicle in the area of Furnace Road and Garrisonville Road, where they saw it repeatedly drift over the fog line and back into the travel lane.

When police pulled over the vehicle, it stopped in the middle of the road. A deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Another officer arrived and conducted field sobriety tests on both occupants, after which they were arrested.
