Walker-Grant Middle School released its summer issue of Tigertalk this week, featuring news for back-to-school preparations.

Highlights:

• Football tryouts are 2:30 - 5:30 p.m., August 1 and 2.  Bring cleats, shorts and water.
• Girl's basketball tryouts are 9 - 11 a.m., August 1 and 2. 
• Field hockey tryouts are 7:30 - 9 a.m. daily, August 19 - 29.  Interested students are asked to email Coach Wack at johnwack@me.com.  Bring cleats, running shoes and a water bottle.
  
• School orientation is August 28, in a new open house format.  Sixth graders and their parents are scheduled from 4 - 5 p.m.  Open orientation (6th - 8th grade students) is from 5 - 7 p.m.
• First day of school is Tuesday, September 3.
• Back-to-School Night for students and families is 6:30 - 8 p.m. September 17.  The PTA is offering a spaghetti dinner (small fee) beginning at 5:30 p.m.
