Celebrate National Flip Flop Day at Tropical Smoothie Cafe
Friday, June 21, 2 - 7 p.m.
Wear your flip flops to Tropical Smoothie Cafe at 10159 Southpoint Parkway and receive a free 24 oz. Jetty Punch smoothie. Ocean Drive featuring Island Gerry and Hurricane Ed will be playing live from 4 - 7 p.m. A portion of the day's proceeds are being donated to Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses.
Sounds of Summer with the Mid Atlantic Wind Symphony
Friday, June 21, 7 p.m. in Market Square
Sponsored by The Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center, the free summer concert series includes free, extended Museum hours from 5 - 9 p.m., a members reception and activities for kids in the square.

Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center Summer Yard Sale
Saturday, June 22, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Market Square
Donations accepted Thursday and Friday, June 20 and 21, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Town Hall, 907 Princess Anne St. (the corner of Princess Anne and William Streets beside Market Square). Please use the William Street entrance to deliver your items.
Free admission. Items will be priced to sell, and all proceeds will benefit the education and programming work of the museum. In case of rain, the sale will be held inside Town Hall.
Bear Visits Dog Krazy
Saturday, June 22, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Dog Krazy
Bear, the Malinois (or Belgian Shepherd) star on the CBS show Person of Interest will be at Dog Krazy to raise money for Bully Paws and Ring Dog Rescue. For a donation of any amount, you can have your photo taken with Bear. Raffle tickets are also available to win Bear's (aka Boker's) paw print .
19th Annual Purple Martin Field Day
Saturday, June 22, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at The Wood Farm in Louisa, Va. Directions at this link.
See the most effective techniques and equipment available for successful martin attraction and management, and learn how to increase the size of an existing colony. Event is FREE, but donations are appreciated to help cover expenses. Bring lawn chairs, binoculars, notepad, camera, lunch. Drinks and snacks provided. The hosts request that guests do not bring pets.
Author in the Atrium: Gerhard Hennes
Saturday, June 22, 2 - 4 p.m. at Central Rappahannock Regional Library Headquarters.
An author of six books and numerous publications, Gerhard Hennes was a prisoner of war during World War II. Hear about his experiences in Germany and America. Signed books will be available for purchase. Free admission.
Shakespeare on the Lawn at Kenmore presents Henry IV Part One
Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, 8 p.m.
Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Come early and enjoy your own picnic on the lawn. Historic Kenmore is located at 1201 Washington Ave. in Fredericksburg.
Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 students.
'The Outer Banks Cookbook' Book Signing
