Winning Lottery Ticket Worth $200K For Culpeper Woman

CULPEPER, VA—On more or less of a whim, Ricarda Ramos and her husband decided to buy some lottery tickets recently while they were out and about. So they did just that, from the Safeway grocery store at Southgate Shopping Center. Suffice to say, it was a fruitful purchase.

That's because one of the scratch-off tickets she bought was worth a cool $200,000. It represented the top prize in Virginia Lottery's Big Money Maker game. Her odds of winning that amount were 1 in 1,040,400. The retiree from Culpeper told lottery officials her win came just in time for Christmas.
