Woman Reports Robbery at Econo Lodge

A 20-year-old woman reported to Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office deputies that she was robbed while at the Econo Lodge on Sunday. 

At approximately 3:40 a.m. the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Econo Lodge located at 5321 Jefferson Davis Hwy. for a report of a robbery which had just occurred.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Mike Harvey said the victim told police "she heard a knock on her door and when she opened her door several males pushed her into the room and used a handheld taser on her stomach. The victim was held down on the bed while the suspects went through her room."

Harvey said the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and electronics before leaving the room.

The victim was checked by rescue personnel but denied any serious injury.
